Meet Dr. Martin Oakes

Dr. Martin Oakes received his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary. His dental degree was awarded in 1978 from the Medical College of Virginia. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio to complete his residency training in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Oakes was raised in the Tidewater, Virginia area; he now resides in Fayetteville where he retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He completed his military career as the Chief of Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at Ft. Bragg.

Dr. Oakes served as the President of the Fayetteville Dental Society and Chairman of the Clinical Services Committee Care Clinic. He also served as a member of the Planning Commission for the City of Fayetteville and is a member of the Dental Advisory Committee of Fayetteville Tech Community College. Dr. Oakes has been published in numerous journals and is an avid speaker on dental topics.

Dr. Oakes has staff privileges at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and the Fayetteville Ambulatory Center.
