Dr. William Sulik was born and raised in Stratford, Connecticut. He attended Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree. From 1969-1973 he attended the Georgetown University School of Dentistry graduating with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. After graduation, he was offered a faculty position in the Department of Crown and Bridge. In 1975, Dr. Sulik was accepted into the graduate program in Prosthodontics at the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry. Upon earning a Certificate of Prosthodontics and a Master of Science degree in 1977, he remained in dental education until 1985 when he resigned his appointment to enter private practice.

Dr. Sulik achieved the rank of Associate Professor of Prosthodontics at UNC-Chapel Hill. During his tenure at the dental school, he was active in teaching, research and in the Dental Faculty Practice. His clinical research in dental materials helped introduce dentistry to an exciting new alternative to conventional options for the fabrication of crowns and bridges. Dr. Sulik has lectured extensively at major dental meetings both nationally and internationally. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in reviewed journals and has written chapters for a number of popular textbooks.

Dr. Sulik is also active in organized dentistry. He attained Board Certification status by the American Board of Prosthodontics in 1985. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Equilibration Society, the North Carolina Dental Society, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a Diplomat of the American Board of Prosthodontics, serving on numerous committees and involved with many organizational activities. In 1996 he was President of the American Equilibration Society, which is an international organization dedicated to excellence in restorative dentistry. Dr. Sulik has also served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists and as the Chairman of the Prosthodontic Forum.

He practiced in Chapel Hill from 1985-2010 where he limited his treatment to restorative dentistry. He also owned and operated Classic Dental Ceramics, a laboratory to support his treatment efforts. In 2010 he sold his practice in Chapel Hill and joined Dr. “Buzz” King, eventually joining Southeastern Dental Services, an extension of Village Family Dental. Dr. Sulik has been married to his wife for over 20 years and they have two children. In his spare time he enjoys wood carving, country living, taking care of his animals and fly fishing in the mountains. He currently resides in Vass, North Carolina.
